S ituated at the end of the South Eastern Freeway, only 80kms from Adelaide, the Rural City of Murray Bridge has an esitmated population of 17,500 people, offering an ideal environment and good climate for wonderful living and relaxation.

O ur landmarks are the 3 bridges which span the mighty River Murray.  The original road bridge at the end of the main street was opened in 1879.
The new Swanport Bridge was built 5kms downstream, at the end of the freeway, & opened exactly 100 years after the first bridge.

M odern marine facilities provide the boating & aquatic enthusiasts with a playground for whatever activity is desired.  River boats provide cruises for short or long trips.  Sturt Reserve is the popular picnic area near the river where visitors can relax  (as show in the above central photo) & view Bertha the Bunyip surface from the murky depths of her cave.

O ur town has excellent shopping areas, social & accommodation facilities, with two hotels, a guest house, four motels, five caravan parks, backpacker, & three bed & breakfast.  There are many food outlets, including restaurants, cafes, & takeaways, aimed to suit all tastes.  It caters for a wide range of sporting activities, both indoor & outdoor, & boasts superb facilities for horse racing enthusiasts, plus a very fine golf course & speedway track.
